Heir of the Covenant

Does Jesus love you?  All of us will answer yes, because we know it.  If I asked you why, you would probably be able to give several good answers...are you grateful for it?  Sure.  But do you really feel that gratitude?  Do you really feel the love?  Has that knowledge of Jesus' love really entered into your emotions?  Not most of the time for me.  It's hard for me to get emotional and grateful when dealing with Jesus' sacrifice for me...I guess it's because I've known about His life since I was born.  But, it is so important to really know that love that He has for us, and to feel that gratitude.  Hopefully this hymn will help remind you of the great love the Jesus has for us, and will help you to feel the gratitude.  Many times I don't have a deep sense of gratitude to Christ for what He has done.  But, I've been praying that God will help me...pray to Him that He will help you more and more be grateful for Jesus' love.  The second verse of this hymn talks about singing to God and to Christ in gratitude.  Sometimes it's hard not to just say the words, but to really mean them. And, you know what?  When we get to heaven, we'll get to see Him and personally thank Him and worship Him.  As it says in the final verse: And when from death I'm free, I'll sing and joyful be!  And through eternity I'll sing on!  May the Father bless you as you grow closer to our great Savior.

1. What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul.

2. To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb, I will sing.
To God and to the Lamb Who is the great “I Am”;
While millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing;
While millions join the theme, I will sing.

3. And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on;
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on.
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing and joyful be;
And through eternity, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on;
And through eternity, I’ll sing on.

    Every month, I will be posting the lyrics of a hymn as the new Hymn of the Month.  I hope you will read it and try to apply it...hymns are such a blessing, let's not let them go to waste.  My dad suggested something to me.  He said whenever you're down or are facing a temptation, start to sing...so I sing hymns.  There are different types of hymns.  Some for praising God, some about the nature of God, and some about how God relates to His people.  I bet you there is a good hymn for any sort of situation you are in, so I hope the ones I put up here every month will be helpful.  Feel free to comment on any of these hymns and share any insight that you might have.
